Love Create Festival 2012.

Emma Hopkins, the latest lovely edition to our ever growing creative team, was hard at work this weekend at the Love Create Festival in Weston-Super-Mare.

The inspiration for LoveCreate is the lovepassionkindness and energy of one Miss Hayley Dowdell. Hayley was an amazing person, with a wicked laugh, full of love, life and an infectious positivity. She was a fan of art, design, music, Glastonbury, The Mighty Boosh, the odd pint and anything sweet.

She was 27 when she lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis in November last year. Throughout her adult life she played a big part in North Somerset in bringing about awareness of the illness. She took part in many fundraising activities including completing the Bristol 10K in 1h 47mins with only a 40% lung capacity, writing and illustrating a book to help young children understand CF and petitioning for and winning beds and equipment for ward 54 at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) Hospital.

The aim of the festival was to promoteshare and celebrate a genuine love of creating and in doing so to raise as much awareness and money as possible for Cystic Fibrosis.

Money raised will be used to buy equipment and aparatus for the respiratory ward at BRI and will go towards the amazing Gene Therapy Research and Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

On the day of the event Emma set up and ran a T-shirt making and creating stand - all funds raised on the stand went to both charities. The pennies are still being counted but Emma believes her stand raised approximately £300 so a huge well done to her!
